Holland Tulip Time Festival, Inc, stages a world-class festival and popular events for area residents and visitors that showcase the community and the tulip and celebrate Dutch heritage and culture. Tulip Time is one of the largest flower festivals in the United States. Below are some of the highlights of the Holland Tulip Festival.
Veldeheer Tulip Gardens -Holland’s only Tulip Farm and only the Delftware Factory in USA has 30 acres of tulips and includes a gift shop.
Dutch Village-Dutch folk dancing, wooden shoe carving, Amsterdam Street Organ, Authentic Witches Scale, historical museums, Frisian Farmhouse & Barn and much, much more!
Taste of Holland Breakfast Buffet - Authentic Dutch breakfast featuring an old Dutch favorite - pig-in-the-blankets, followed by a slide show on Dutch and Holland history.
Volksparade- Keeping with the “Dutch Cleanliness” tradition, the Volksparade is preceded by hundreds of Dutch-costumed townspeople armed with brooms and pails to scrub the parade route clean. Following the streetscrubbing, the Volksparade features dozens of colorful bands, floats and more.
Windmill Island-A beautiful oasis within the city of Holland, Windmill Island features a 240 year old working Dutch windmill “De Zwaan” (meaning graceful bird). The windmill towers over 36 acres of manicured gardens, dikes, canals and picnic areas.
Kinderparade - This colorful parade gives over 7,000 area school children the opportunity to greet welcomed visitors.
Barbershop on Parade - Joining the Holland Windmill Chorus for an evening of spectacular singing are two great quartets. There’s humor and drama, but the star of the evening is that good old four-part barbershop harmony!
Muziekparade - The grand finale of the festival! Nearly 40 bands and as many floats, giant helium parade balloons, horses, Klompen Dancers, and much more perform along a 2.4 mile route to the delight of young and old alike.
